Have you discovered yet that the world looks different if we look at it through somebody else’s eyes? We can discover details or new structures we never saw before. And what better way to do that than through the thousands of photos available online? Photos have the ability to capture beauty in its many forms, shapes and colours and they are at our disposal with just a few clicks. Places you always dreamt of going to or impressive monuments and buildings that seem unreal but still they exist. These are few of the amazing features world photos can provide, along with the feelings that accompany the pictures.

Perspective drawing, a means to represent an image to seem real in a plane surface is divided into many categories. Each category refers to the number of vanishing point(s) that happens to be involved. During my previous article, I explained to you how you can draw one-point perspective. As a related topic we will tackle the steps regarding on the way to draw two-point perspective.

The main difference between the two is that two-point perspective projects two vanishing points while one-point perspective as indicated in their names has only one. Two-point is an exact picture viewed from a corner of your image or a rotated view of your one-point perspective.

You would like to give a greeting card to somebody but you just can’t find the right one. The cards at the shop all have the same old tired design. You’ve also tried online card shops but none of the designs seem to appeal to you. Well then, why not print one that you made yourself. This is not as hard as it sounds. Since you are already on the internet, you probably have some tools that you can use already.

Before we get going with this topic, we need to know the distinction between art and design. But again we start of with this hair splitting distinction; we need to know them separately.

What is art?

The answer of this simple question is so complex that it has enamored artists day after day, but the conclusion has yet to come. Because to circumscribed it in a worldly accepted definition frame is rather Herculean task. According to Plato it is an imitation of an imitation. If definition goes like this we can say monkey is an artist as he has the capability and quality to copy and imitate man. But we can never take monkey as an artist. Though Aristotle attributed it a human inclination for imitation, but he gave it a little modification saying art is an imitation of life.

If you visit a store that sells greeting cards in the first two weeks of February, you will find rows and rows of cards specific for Valentine’s Day. The cards are no longer just for that special someone. Today, you can give anybody a Valentine’s Day card designed for the kind of relationship you have with that person whether they be your parents or siblings or friends or whatnot.

Speaking of design, the cards at the store are certainly varied. There are the funny and humorous cards, and then there are the cards that have dead serious declarations of love. There are nature-inspired cards, cartoons, still life paintings, avant garde or whatever style. Even so, you may find that neon of them is perfect for the love of your life.
